A reformed Gunfighter Jimmy Ringo is on his way to a sleepy town in the hope of a reunion with his estranged sweetheart and their young son who he has never seen. On arrival, a chance meeting with some old friends including the town's Marshal gives the repentant Jimmy some respite.

The film’s producer, Sarah Platt, managed to finagle a reasonable rate for the low-budget production to shoot there over Halloween weekend.

The Gunfighter has a similar story to High Noon, but without any gunfights and a tense finale, it's a lot less memorable. Overall well worth your consideration if your a fan of Peck or this genre.
